I wanted to ask this because I am looking for some good manga to read that I haven't read before. I do so love reading my manga. It fills me with much happy excited gleefulness! Anyways, back on subject. I would have to say that my favorite manga currently is a manga called Legend of Basara.

It is a story of a girl named Sasara living in a alternate universe of Japan. In the story, she is the twin sister of the boy Tatara, the boy who is said to save the country from the evil of the four kings of the country and bring about peace. However, their village is attacked by the Red Kings army and Tatara is slaughtered before the remaining villagers eyes. Realizing it is the only way to keep the hope alive for the people of her village, Sasara decides to cut her hair and take on the facade of her brother Tatara, and in doing so taking on the responsibilities of destroying the royal family.

In her adventures, Sasara encounters many trials she must face after taking on the child of destiny's name. She makes many friends and has one heck of a time trying to keep people from realizing that she is in fact Sasara and not Tatara. Sasara also finds love and not just love, but forbidden love for one in whom she hates the most. With all of these responsibilities thrust upon her, with her still clinging to her want to be female, and her lack of knowledge on acting as a man, how will Sasara do all that is expected of her and not get found out by those that follow her?

That is a very basic summery of the plot and it doesn't give the series justice at all, but I didn't want to give to much away. It is an amazing series and if you ever get a chance to read it, I highly recommend it. It is very Mulan mixed with Romeo and Juliet. It has amazing art and a amazing story that captivated my very being. I didn't want to stop reading it once I started and it was one of those stories I never wanted to end. But sadly, it does end and it leaves you with a sense of satisfaction.

Anyways, now that I am done going on and on about Basara, what is your guys favorite mangas? I are is a curious little Tohma. ^^

I've been a big fan of "Battle Angel Alita" and its follow-up/re-ending entitled "Last Order." It's one I've been collecting for years.

If I were to add a manga to said collection, I would have to go with "Eden."

KayaniNeko: I love Hana Kimi! I actually cosplayed as Umeda before! Yayness for finding another Hana Kimi fan! Have you seen the dramas? I saw both the Taiwanese one and the Japanese. They are totally awesome!

Kaku: Eden? Sounds interesting. I think I will look it up. Thank you very much for the suggestion. ^^

Joe: I think I have heard of this one, but I have yet to look it up and I think I forgot about it until now. Thank you very much for bringing it up. I will be sure to take a look at it now.

Kaku: That's alright. I like all type of manga and anime. ^^

Kayani: -nods- Really. I am glad you think that's cool. It's awesome that you might be doing Nakatsu for Kumoricon if you go! I might have to pull Umeda out of the closet for that. It would be fun to hang out with other Hana Kimi cosplayers.

Some series that I will always look favorably upon and hold close to my heart even if I haven't focused any energy on them in a while are Fruits Basket and Yotsuba&!

But the forerunners in my life are definitely Ouran High School Host Club, Hana Kimi (of which I'll be cosplaying Nanba~), and Axis Powers Hetalia.

I really admire Kiyohiku Azuma. Azumanga Daioh and Yotsuba&! are perpetual favorites. There is something to be cherished about Yotsuba's exuberant innocence.

There's a reason I don't take my mom to conventions -- she thought Yotsuba&! was obscene. I cannot even imagine that level of disconnect. (She also thinks that large eyes in manga is a bizarre sexual fetish, even though I have explained it to her otherwise on several occasions.)

Yotsuba has been my favorite for awhile, but recently I've been enjoying  20th Century Boys and High School Debut. I've also recently rediscovered Silent Mobius, which is much better then I remember it being. How's that for a diverse list?
