I'm looking for a free program that will conpress my AMVs without having to place them in Zip for WinRAR files. Anyone know where I can find it so I can put my AMVs on a website?

you may want to try a program called "Handbrake," (website) which can transcode your AMVs into something more standards-based and allow you to encode it for web streaming.

Note that this is only a transcoding program and NOT an editor. It can do some trimming off of the ends if you wish, but that's about it.

If you're not looking to zip/rar them up, then transcoding is your only real option. You can't make something smaller without either putting it in some container format (zip/rar/7z) or transcoding it to be a smaller movie.

Note that "smaller movie" doesn't necessarily mean smaller in width & height, or even lower in quality. Depending on how you encoded it in the first place, transcoding it can result in smaller video file size with no or minimal loss of quality.
