New years eve : "Lips-on Learning"
This New Year’s Eve join us for a little “lips on learning” with Erin Marie Palmer of the Portland Wine Cellar. Together we’ll learn how to sip, swirl, sniff, and pair our way through wine. Important skills like pronunciation will be matched with an understanding of the weapons and tools of the trade (glassware, corkscrews, and other paraphernalia). This 90-minute interactive 5-wine tasting and class will help you ring in the new year more confident about wine than ever before. Make your reservations now. Advanced tickets are only $20 for M.E.W. We still have to confirm w/ the hotel that they will let us do this...as far as I know they're OK with us serving booze and our own food in the Green Room... just have to confirm about the rest
But here's the idea:
Wine tasting panel in green room. 1.5 hours wine related lecture with Erin Marie Palmer of The Wine Cellar and tasting of 6 wines wonderful wines from The Wine Cellar for only $20 per person.
SO - quick poll ; are YOU interested (this includes being willing to fork over the $20- - the wine tasting is NOT free because wine isn't cheap); wine or port? ; preferred time of day and which day?

Hey, Wine tasting panel is ON!!! You can register for it when you purchase your Mewcon badge. I recommend you register for the Wine tasting as soon as possible to guarantee that you get in.  |

my parents are coming with me to mew con ( not attending but staying at the hotel) could they still get in to this pannel? could i use my mew con membership to get them a discount or could they pay to get in?

If they're just doing the wine tasting, ORDER TWO WINE TASTING TICKETS on the MEW registration and note that the tickets are for your parents. Since this is a PAID wine tasting ($20/attendee) if someone not attending MEW wants to go, that person just has to pay the wine tasting fee. Though, of course, you could let your parents know that they might want to also pick up a ticket for the New Year Eve dance too.

thanks, they would just want to go to the winw pannel. im 19 btw (my cosplay is 29) and i don't need them everywere i just thought it would be a good thing for them to do while im out and about at the con

Erin (of Wine Cellar) said she'll be bringing enough stuff for *36* people.... so if you want to join the wine tasting, be sure to bring your ID - by law, Erin is required to check ID to ensure you guys are over 21 before serving you wine... So let people know there's SPACE!! $20 per person.  |

Oh yeah... if you take the wine class from her later on in the year at her shop, it's $39 / person... so 20 bux is a SUPER BARGAIN for an awesome "lips on learning" wine experience to be had ONLY at MewCon. |
