Aki-con Nov. 5th-7th in Bellvue WA.

I'm contemplating going to this con (probably as staff).
Did anyone go to this last year? How was it?
They claim to have over $2,000 in cash prizes both this year and last, did they follow through with this last year?
How is the venue?
What kind of people are the upper-level staff?

On a side note their forum could use some major work (it still says Akicon 2009 in the first category-header...)

I've been to it both times and it was my first con I attended. I really like the con and the staff is friendly that I've met. They are in a new venue this year (Hilton in Bellevue) so not sure about it but I was at another convention in a hotel just kitty corner from it and the area is quite nice with many things to do. I plan on attending this year as well. I enjoy their cosplay hall. It's nice to have good backrounds to take pix especially if weather is not good outside.

I'm going this year. I am really looking forward to it. Though I am a bit behind on my costume so I need to finish up with that.

Ah Aki. It was my third consecutive attendance to a convention and the first one in which I decided to cosplay. I was the sexy but incomplete Kaito that looked like Von Karma to someone on day one and then a certain Gundam character at the masq ball. Between the two, I only got stopped a few times for photos. Aki is the reason I'm going to Sakura and AX in all out Cantarella next year. MEWcon is going to be sort of a pivot for design ideas.
