Cosplay Chess?

I'm surprised I didn't see this here. I hope that this is here, because I wanna be in it so bad. I wouldn't know what to do though. Hmmm... Anyone know how to run it?

It seems very very elaborate. You need 2 chess players who know what they're doing, enough folks in full cosplay to cover both sides of the board, some way to mark the floor to indicate the board, & for players to plan their "attacks".
I'd love it if it works out, though.

I would totally love to see it as well. Maybe we should run the idea by a programmer and they can gauge the interest?

That would be amazing to see if we got it worked out Rem is right though, it's a pretty involved set up... any one know a couple of good chess players willing to coordinate?

The basic setup can be relatively simple = draw "squares" using tape and put "x" in the middle of some to indicate which are black squares and which aren't.
The Challenge is to find someone who can manage it - that is, locate some reasonably descent chess players to call out the chess piece moves, and to convince enough cosplayers to attend...     I believe that at last year's MEW, Bang Bang Neko attempted to do a modification of cosplay chess because there weren't enough people to have two full chess armies...it was a blast and quite amusing to watch.   All it takes to appear on the schedule is for someone to submit the panel info (and thus be the one willing to actually RUN it ).

I would totally do this i am not good at chess but i would love to be in it. They had it at Kumoricon but i didn't go and i really wanted to. Some of my friends are good chess players, let me talk to them about that.

I am thinking about running it. I'll have the final decision by tonight. At the moment I plan on running it. If I do decide to do it I will submit a panel request quickly. :3

Alright I have submitted the panel registration. As soon as I know that I will be doing it I will be putting up the registration form. I don't see any reason why I wouldn't get it so if you have any questions you can send me a pm. I plan on making this one scripted just so everyone knows.
