MEW is much smaller than Aki. They think it will be about 500 this year. I believe it was 300 last year ? or close to that... its small but nice. more artist focused. cosplay's a big plus.

I wondered about this and decided to check the register. At the moment there are less than 300 attendees and I think this is why the staff are the only ones that seem to help 80% of the time. Usually there's a small percentage of people that visit a con's message board unless it's really huge and insane like Sakura or AX. In this case I'd be lucky to see 10 people at MEWcon from this board and they'd probably be staff. I wish I were kidding. MEW is just going to be the kind of con where I have a chance to relax and visit a lot of new people. I can work with a pot of 300 or so pretty easily but then again I'm not sure what to expect since I haven't been to MEW before. All I know is this is going to be exciting. Smiley

We are shooting fro 500 people at this point. I don't know any numbers but i do know that over the thanksgiving weekend we filled our room block and it had to be extended (which means more people bought rooms than we initially expected). That is what caused the issue a few people had over that weekend with our block being "unavailable".

Oh and the staff helping 80% of the time is because I read every post and inform department heads of peoples questions.

I hope to see at least this many. By my photographing standards I'm expecting no less than 25%(or 120 people) in costume. As long as I get 120+ great photos across all three days I'll be really happy. My album needs more cosplay.

Seems to me that over half were in costume last year. And many will wear multiple costumes in the course of the con! So double your expectations! I'll be taking lots of pictures, too, and I know I won't be disappointed. Mewcon rocks!
