I know at Kumoricon, people could enter the day of the premeet...

Not sure if they're wanting that to happen though...

Day 1: Kaito (Vocaloid)
Cosplay contest: Steampunk Cheshire Cat
Day 2: Gru (Despicable Me) maybe
Villian's Ball: Envy (FMA)
Day 3: Mal (Firefly)/Hughes (FMA)
Steampunk Ball: Cheshire Cat

For the contest you can enter the day of just come to main events during the judging time and we will place you. Be sure though to print and fill out the info form above when you come. Since it makes it faster and easier for us. The costume contest has to be hand made, but we do also have the theme costume contests and the fashion show which you don't have to have the costume hand made.

I've had this question for a long time actually....

How strict is the definition of "hand-made"?

Mainly I'm meaning could I buy clothing from Goodwill or something to make a costume?

As long as I'm not buying the actual cosplay somewhere, it should be fine, right?

Well were going with the rule it has to 80% handmade. So if you bought a shirt but altered the crap out of it then that would count. But if it's just a plain shirt nothing done to it, then it wouldn't count as handmade and you also have to tell the judges what you did make and what was bought.

Will the contest just be short walk-ons for the contestants, or also with skits?  More importantly, should those who've entered bring music/sound recordings for their bit?  Just want to know what I should bring (besides the costume and myself obviously).

Are we allowed to enter as a couple?

And what if a friend helped us make the costume? Most of my Sweeney costume was made with some help. I had a friend back East make the vest and shirt from scratch. The only part of the costume that was truly bought was the pants, belt, shoes. Everything else has been made from scratch or altered.

Just Walk-ons only, There will be music and everyone will get 2 mins to strut around. Unless we get like 50 people then it'll be cut down if not you'll get more. But don't worry i'll announce if any changes have happened. you'll also get to walk on stage to see if you need help with your costume and work out your pace. (But I wouldn't practicing posing, because it's better to keep it a surprise) ^_-
If anybody has any kind of concern or needs help i'll be in the room the whole time so I can help everyone out.
Btw: I am not a judge, I don't feel it would be fair for me to be a judge.
But Axelrod is one and i've got some others who will judge as well.

you can enter as a couple just when judging happens just tell the judges, same goes for the help.  Just tell them what parts you did and want your friend's did.
This contest has both craftsmanship as well as "in character" judging.
