I'm Robert, and this will be my second Mewcon. Last year I was an air pirate from Porco Rosso, but this year I'm coming as a member of the Thought Police! Yes, that's right, my high-tech equipment can read your naughty thoughts! .... Hey! Stop thinking that! Sheesh!
When not policing the psi-waves, I do things like writing fanfiction or SF. I have three books in print, including an SF novel "One Survivor," and a book on fantasy role-playing games, "Through Dungeons Deep." More recently, I've gotten into fanfiction, including a book-length, 13-episode season of "The Big O." When you attend my "Getting Started in Fanfiction" workshop is on Saturday, you'll get some pointers on how to turn blank pages (or even a blank mind!) into a cool story. Hey, it's worth a try, if only because people have immense respect for authors, even unpublished ones! (Which is sort of weird, since everyone is already an unpublished author, if you think about it. Except for the published authors, of course.) Anyway, it's fun to tell people that you're a writer and watch their eyes get big.
I'm an enthusiastic photographer and hope to see you at my "Cosplay Photography for Beginners" workshop on Friday afternoon. The cosplayers are dying to have their pictures taken, and it's up to us to come to their rescue! I cover all the basics and then some, in a fun and straightforward and fun way. Bring your camera, because this is a hands-on workshop.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the con!
Robert
P.S. I heard that!

Robert, hopefully you and Karen will also be on board for the regeneration of Tiptoe Through the TARDIS, Sunday, Jan. 2, 4:15pm-5pm! Right? Btw we are invited to the Portland Sci-Fi Society's Doctor Who party this Saturday, which the host said was inspired by our Whovian panel at Orycon! Everyone: Robert is brilliant and hilarious. He has hosted panels in the Creation Stations at 2 Orycons as well as Kumoricon, where he was also a Fanfic Judge. Anything he runs will be informative, funny, pun-ny, and fun!

Rem, Thanks for the kind words! I'm going to be at the con pretty much from start to finish, give or take a couple of hours at each end. Last year I helped hold down an artist's table and didn't see as much of the con as I'd have liked. Not so, this year! I'm sure Karen can be there for the Tiptoe Through the TARDIS event, since she's the original Dr. Who fangirl and had a blast at Orycon! Robert

AWESOME! Looking forward to seeing you both there. Be forewarned: A couple additional filks have come to me since OryCon (4, actually: 2 Supernatural, 2 Whovian) & one is even a holiday-theme.....Oy vey! Oh, and do you already know which panels you want to offer for KC & OC in 2011? My "Cosplay Photography" workshop generates tremendous enthusiasm, so I'll be doing that one at Kumoricon for sure, and maybe OryCon as well. And I'll reach into my bag of tricks for fanfiction and RPG and self-publishing panels for a mix of old and new -- I like trying something new at every convention. Which reminds me -- those of you who might be thinking of attending my "Cosplay Photography for Beginners" workshop on Friday -- and you should, it's funny! -- bring a camera, because it's hands-on! We've got volunteer models! A cell phone camera will be fine.

In fact, I even talked to someone from GameStorm about the possibility of your holding a panel on painting miniatures, if you're up to it.....
