This movie is outstanding. Seriously. I've now seen it 4 times and it is better every time.
Though parts are humorous, it's overall pretty scary, psychological and supernatural horror. Basically you watch as a guy is utterly and irreversibly transformed by being exposed to elements not of this world, and see how this effects all those around him. The film is a metaphor for the price of devotion to art and a statement about the debilitating effects of both obsession with progress, and lack thereof/ mundanity.
It's an adaptation of H. P. Lovecraft's "Haunter of the Dark" and "Pickman's Model". I worked on it directly (served as the consultant for the final edits; composed the Spanish subtitles) as well as publicizing & showing it.

"Pickman's Muse" has won the following awards:
Best Actor, Barrett Walz, Chicago Horror Film Fest, 2009.
Best Director, Robert Cappalletto, Chicago Horror Film Fest, 2009.
Best Adaptation, H. P. Lovecraft Film Fest (Portland, OR), 2009.
Best Horror Film, Illinois International Film Fest, 2010.

If anyone is interested in screening it at another con, or at a theater, or at a campus film or horror club, or anywhere else, or in reviewing it for any online or offline publication, all of these are welcome; connect with me online or on Sunday for a copy, or leave your contact info with the folks screening the film (Arashi & David).

Thanks to Kri, there will be sound-speakers for the film! It was standing-room-only at OryCon, really a crowd-pleaser. Hope you'll check it out!
