The admins just approved of my request to host an all night Dungeons and Dragons freeplay. WOOHOO!!! Friday from midnight to 8 am.

Of course, anyone and everyone will be invited. I encourage you to come, regardless of your skill level.

Quote
Warning! R rated event!
This game session (and its host) contains alot of adult situations, drug use, violence, blood, rape, and the occasional [naughty word], [naughty word], [naughty word], [naughty word], and internet meme's. (Over 9000, in fact.) It is most likely objectionable to you, your mom, and her mom too. Neither MEWcon or the host are responsible if unattended children exit the freeplay with an "enhanced vocabulary" and nightmares. Also, this game takes place in a fictional universe where violence, rape, crime, torture, pillaging, piracy, and other not-so-nice things are just a day at the beach. Remember parents, combat means blood, and blood means death. If this bothers you, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND.

FAQ's:
1) WTF?
Yes, it is very last minute. I'll bet I was only approved because some panelist canceled.

2) No seriously. WTF?
Yes, a panel as well. I'm bringing plenty of characters, drawings, stories, and quotes from long term established campaigns, including an experimental Pixie race character.

3) What version are we playing?
4.0 campaign. Sorry! *dodges thrown tomatoes* I feel it would be the easiest for inexperienced players to learn with.

4) How could you?!
Easily.

5) Do I need to be skilled to play?
No you do not, but a basic understanding of what a roleplaying game is would be swell. Also, the ability to do simple addition and roll dice are necessary. Well, I can do those things for you too.

6) Is this a LARP?
No, it is not, but don't discount it! How about this: You can immediately level up for bringing a costume or a prop for your character. (For your D&D character. My Mirai Trunks sword does not qualify me.)
Role playing is a large part of the game. One of my goals with this is to teach new gamers (and existing gamers who are kinda chicken) to physically roleplay. The story telling aspect is fun, but the acting part is even more so, and alot of games completely neglect that aspect.

7) Can I bring my own character?
Sure, but you don't have to. However, if you bring your own character, I'll assume your an experienced player and you'll be grouped with other experienced players and a veteran DM. Players new to gaming will be provided with/rolling up and LEVEL 2 character. If you'd like to create your own character ahead of time, please make it LEVEL 2.
(srsly. Your level 10 rogue would mop the floor with some newbie's level 2 fighter.)
Feel free to bring other equipment: Books, maps, pencils, mini's, dice, etc. It's all appreciated.

8 ) Can I DM?
If your experienced, yes. Remember, this is also to teach others how to play. If your NOT experienced and would like to learn, that's cool too. I'm bringing enough knowledge to share.
Seriously want to DM? Drop me a line. I want to have a count going to I can plan things better. liztheincredible@gmail.com

9) Is it really overnight?
Yes it is. Bring your own caffeine.

10) What should I expect?
Expect quite a bit. When you enter, you'll be asked if you'd like to make a character or if you'd like to use one of the many characters the host has provided. All these characters are level TWO. (Any characters above level 2 will be grouped together to play, because the host will assume your experienced.) After you've received or rolled up a new character, you'll join a group to begin your quest. Your group will contain anywhere from 2-5 players and a DM (this all depends on attendance.)

11) Whose on the panel?
For the panel, we have a veteran DM named Nathan, whose been DMing for over five years. He's written an experimental Pixie race and you'll also meet the gamer that's the first to play it, whose a GIRL, yes GIRLS play this game too! Both play very week at Hardcore Headquarters in Beaverton Oregon. This experimental Pixie race has recently attracted the attention of a journalist in the industry, so there's been alot happening with it.
They will be armed with characters from their weekly campaign, including drawings, character sheets, quotes, impressions, bad puns, and inside jokes.

Well con-goers, I hope to see you all there. What better way to ring in the new year than D&D! (No really, I'm asking.)

I've been a DM before, but only for 3rd edition. Would it be possible for me to run my own level 2 character beginner's campaign in the corner of this panel? I already have characters, maps and a story I could use, or would there be an opening during the day that I could run this one?
