NaNoWriMo

NaNoWriMo? What the..?!

I know it sounds weird but it's great fun. Let me explain. It stands for National Novel Writing Month. It is a crazy race to get a rough draft, and I do mean very rough draft of a novel written in 30 days. Yes folks 50,000 words from November 1st to November 30th. They emphasize fiction writing but really it can be about anything, from that autobiography you have been meaning to write, to how to make Klingon battle gear, to knitting with cat fur. I mean really what else can you do with it after all?

NaNo is in it's 10th year and going stronger then ever. The official book "of No Plot? No Problem!" by Chris Baty, one of the founders of NaNoWriMo is a blast to read even if you never plan on partaking in the crazy antics of this marathon writing month.

 Adopt one today!

Alright, so for Portlanders and some Vancouvians... You all have to know what Scream at the Beach is. It's a rather big attractant of a Haunted house. Well this year, they have taken over most of Janzen Beach! They have SIX attractions now! Five haunted houses, and then lots of other smaller events. Now I work for Scream at the Beach, and for doing so I get benefits. Now I want to do a Cosplay event at Scream at the Beach. This would be held on the 24th of October. And we would all have to meet up earlier in the day. You can cosplay anything, but please make sure it won't cause problems with vision or any such. I work in these haunts and I know they can be dangerous if you don't know where you are going.

I will have 15 Tickets personally that I can give away(I don't actually have them yet, I get one ticket each night I work... and I will work 15 nights before the event), that means fifteen people can get in for free. It is 20 dollars to by a pass for all of the haunts(normally). So If you want to pay for yourself that only makes it easier. I also want to meet up between 4 and five, and get our tickets, and line up to go through the haunts. I was thinking that we go through all the haunts together as a group, (well broken up in a sense) so we are in line together. We are free to take pictures while in line, but Cameras and phones are not allowed to be on in the haunts.

When: October 24th(Friday Night before Halloween) at 4 o'clock- Run untill we are done at Scream
Where: Janzen Beach Super Center(Scream at The Beach)
Who: YOU! Me, any cosplayer.

I have had it confirmed that we will have a hallway table at Aki Con this year. Aki Con will be taking place Nov. 7th-9th in Everett, WA. Our publicity dept. has received two weekend passes for people who are going to be working the table. That means that with me aside, I need at least one more person (more if work doesn't let me go Cry ) to help out with the table. This also means that you will get free entrance to the con, but I do want you to spend a majority of time helping. I'm not a slave driver, really, you will get time to enjoy the con! ^_^ Also, anyone else who is planning on going to Aki Con anyways, we could use the help working the table whenever you have a chance!

So anyways, if you can help, please PM me (AkioLegend).

Hope to see you at Aki Con!
